Performance / Music
To come, and return, to the cave. Between damp walls and beneath industrial stalactites, a voice resonates. An archaic echo, stripped of language, overflowing communication to become living matter: organic, raw, and mesmerising.
The vocal explorations of Nina Baietta intertwine with the electronic mirages of Serøja Leonov. Together, they create other speaking cave, a hybrid form somewhere between primitive ritual and sonic science fiction — an archaeology of the future where biology meets technology. Within a cavernous darkness pierced by neon lights embedded in metal grids, light itself becomes organism. It pulses, reacts to sound, and enters into dialogue with bodies and voice.
Artist-in-residence at L’Abri - Genève for the 2024–2025 season, Serøja Leonov develops a modular synthesiser practice shaped by sonic experimentation and radical electronic textures. He met Italian singer Nina Baietta during a residency in Venice. Through her voice, she explores the deconstruction of language, composing a unique emotional and sonic vocabulary.
