19-20 ASSOCIATE ARTIST
MIGHTY (Archipelagogo Club) is an Afrofuturist DJ and a founding member of the House of ButchXtra. He/she travels through time with music and shares, in broad daylight, the stories that tend to be long overlooked, in order to turn the dancefloor into a space for all types of bodies and identities, a platform for expression and togetherness.
Maïté Chénière (aka MIGHTY) is an artist, researcher and curator born in Paris in 1992 and based in Geneva. She adopts theoretical research, music, performance and even video to create hybrid experiences. She is interested in the cultural productions of queer people of colour, mixing theoretical and popular knowledge to create an emancipatory discourse. With a Master’s in Visual Arts focused on Critical Curatorial Cybernetic Studies from the Geneva School of Art and Design (HEAD) and a Bachelor’s in Visual Arts from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, her work has been presented among others at the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, at Un lieu pour respirer in Paris, at Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, at the Les Urbaines Festival in Lausanne, at Mains d’Œuvres in Paris, at Ateliers Claus in Brussels, at Théâtre de L’Usine and at Cinéma Spoutnik, both in Geneva.
