Alice Botelho

Alice is crazy. She is currently building herself a reputation as an author in the mystical French literary scene – and Swiss, nevertheless. If you encounter an annoying and creepy guy on the street, she recommends eating dirt to scare the nuisance.
A graduate of the Institute of Literary Writing in Biel, my first novel will be published in August 2025 by Mercure de France Editions. I explore the connections between writing and feminist issues, working the body as a political, intimate, and relational space. My new novel is set in a psychiatric hospital, revolving around female characters and intergenerational friendships. It questions madness, memory, and the diffuse violence embedded in language. I am interested in dramaturgy, both in writing and staging, which I would like to explore further. My research focuses on language as a tool of domination and on dissident narratives as forms of resistance.
